What’s Going On with the Marlins?

The Marlins have dropped 5 straight games on the road. At this point, what could we look at that isn’t working how it’s suppose to.

The Offense: The 1-2-3 punch hasn’t been going to well for the Fish. Reyes, Bonifacio and Ramirez combine went (4 – 27) with 2 doubles and 14 strikeouts in the past 5 games on the road.

Giancarlo Stanton hasn’t play like many expected too. He’s hitting .246 with ZERO long balls, 5 RBI’s and 17
strikeouts. At this rate, many predicted that he would at least have 6 homers and 14 RBI’s.

1st baseman Gaby Sanchez is always hitting into double plays when runners in scoring position and John Buck is doing the same thing.

The Bullpen: The bullpen has giving up a lot of walks when the game is really close, that caused the marlins to lose most of the past 5 games.

The Coaching Staff: Yeah, Eduardo Perez is the son of baseball Hall of Famer Tony Pérez but, does he have enough experience at being a hitting coach? The team has been slumping lately, and if this continue, the Marlins should be in the look out for a new Hitting Coach.

Randy St. Claire was a member of the Braves 1991 and 1992 National League pennant-winning teams and was the pitching coach for the Washington Nationals/Montreal Expos for 7 years. The team fired him on June 2, 2009 and on June 27 same year the marlins hire him as their pitching coach.

I’ll say this was a really bad move, who hires a pitching coach after he’s fired almost a month ago. Well, I’d say we could stay with St.Claire this year because he has done a good job with the starter but he just needs to improve with the bullpen.

    Dorsey, there is no way Perez is to blame. He isnt the one striking out at the plate or chasing bad pitches. cant blame it on the coaches. the blame is on the people that have the power to determine the outcome of a game – the players.

    Ugly uniforms, Ugly statue in CF, moron for a manager, idiot asshole as an owner, a closeted gay team president in David “OJ” Sampson, and a joke of a GM in Larry Beinfest who cannot win in a trade for a Superstar to save his life! Every trade he’s done has been a terrible disaster. How do you expect this team to win? They are ran by morons, and look like clowns with their Rainbow Fish look.

    The Problem is…..This team is not playing as a team, there are cameras filming for Showtime. Giancarlo JINXED himself by changing his name. The owner ship isn’t the problem this time. The team spent MONEY and put a group of all stars together. Buehrle, Jose, Bell, Zambrano all the big guys they spent on this season joined Hanley and Gaby the other former all stars. Perez is a nice guy, and last season the team made stride under him. I think they are folding because they are so worried about getting those hits, or not messing up that they are playing scared not playing the game smart, and relaxed. The time will come when this team will go on a nice stretch. We take a West Coast Trip after this weekends 4 game home stand, we need to go over .500 in wins on that trip.

      The players we signed are not going to help. Jose Reyes was not needed here we had 3 guys just like him in this line up. They threw money away on a player who’s extremely overrated. And Bell has become Leo Nunez! More wasted money there. The two starters have been decent for the most part but this team was badly put together.
