Ricky Nolasco was on the mound in this one, only 3 wins shy of tying Dontrelle Willis’ franchise record of 68 wins. He allowed 2 runs and 4 hit with 3 struck outs and 3 walks in 90 pitches which 52 were strikes, ending up with an ERA of 3.46. Nolasco faced 22 batters which 4 grounded out and 6 flied out.

Marlins’ intern manager Joey Cora changed the middle of the lineup on Friday, which worked very good by scoring 5 runs. Reminding we only scored 2 runs in the past 18 innings, so pretty much this lineup was better. Here’s a look:

The offense started going early by Jose Reyes opening up the game with a single to center, he later stole 2nd base while Bonifacio was batting. Two batters later, Giancarlo Stanton hit double to score Reyes. Up next was Omar Infante and you all know what he did. He singled to right field and Stanton scored from 2nd base.

In the 2nd inning, John Buck singled with 1 out. Nolasco wanted to hit a sacrifice bunt, but he got into a force out and ended up in first base. Up next was Reyes and he walked on four straight balls. Emilio Bonifacio got a single a base hit to load up the bases. A wild pitch by Lucas Harrell during Hanley Ramirez’s at-bat, scored the 3rd run of the game for the Marlins.

Omar Infante got his second hit of the game by getting a single to short-stop Jed Lowrie and was deflected by third baseman Chris Johnson. Chris Coghlan grounded out to third base, but a throwing error by Astros’ first baseman Carlos Lee, let Infante score the fourth run for the fish.

The bullpen went scoreless until Edward Mujica gave up a 2-run home run by J.D Martinez in the 8th inning and he was giving the blown save. Heath Bell entered in 9th inning to try to keep the score tied, which he did, but not way we wanted by walking 3 straight batters. The lefty specialest Randy Choate had 1-2-3 inning in the 10th inning and Ryan Webb, who ended up getting the win, threw a perfect inning in the 11th.

Chris Coghlan opened up the 11th inning with a single. Gaby Sanchez hit a double to left field, letting Coghlan to score from all the way from first base and leaving the Astros on the field.
