The Marlins Fall 10-8 to the Yankees at Marlins Park

The Miami Marlins fall 10-8 to the New York Yankees on Sunday at Marlins Park. This was first time the Marlins played against a Major League opponent at their new ball park.
27,152 people went to the new Ballpark to see the first pitch of Ricky Nolasco to All-Star shortstop Derek Jeter. But that first pitch wasn’t so great, Nolasco left it in the middle of the plate and Jeter batted a double to right field.
Ricky Nolasco was doing great only give up a run in 4 innings, until he gave up 5 runs on 6 hits in the 5th inning. Ozzie Guilen took him out that inning and replaces him with the veteran Randy Choate, who finished the inning.
Nolasco pitched 4 struck outs, 8 hits, 7 runs which all were earn runs, one walk and allowed a home run by Nick Swisher in 5.2 inning.
Gaby Sanchez hit the first ever home run off a Major League Team in Marlins park, a 2 run shot off the Cy Young winner C.C. Sabathia. Reminding Hanley Ramirez hit a home run of the University of Miami. Giancarlo Stanton went 2-4 with 2 RBI’s. John Buck went 2-3 with 2 single and a RBI.
The Marlins had tied the game to 8 in the 7th inning by scoring 3 runs that inning. In the top of the 9th inning still tied at eight, Ozzie Guillen replaces Edward Mujica for Gary Glover. It wasn’t Glover’s best day, he gave up back to back doubles and threw a wild pitch with a runner in third base, allowing the runner to score . The Yankees were leading 10 to 8 in top of the 9th.
The fish couldn’t get a rally going and loses to the New York Yankees in the 1st game of 2 exhibition game in Marlins Park.
Next Game: The Marlins will face the Yankees again at Marlins Park on Monday at 7 PM ET. The Marlins will go with Carlos Zambrano to start the game as he faces Hiroki Kuroda.
