Recap: Marlins vs. Phillies Game 2
- Updated: September 30, 2012
Phillies starter Roy Halladay controlled the pace throughout most of tonight’s victory against the fish in game two of this series. He almost let the game slip out of his hands in the first inning, giving up 3 runs to the marlins.
But he bounced back and only allowed one other run in the 3rd to Giancarlo Stanton who blasted a solo dolo to left for his 36th home run of the season. He also had 3 RBI’s, but that couldn’t make up for an ugly night for Ricky Nolasco.
Nolasco gave up 5 earned runs and 9 hits in 5 innings to the Phillies. Our bullpen couldnt even stop their bats, allowing 4 more runs after Nolasco walked off the mound for a 9-5 defeat. This is also our 91st loss of the season, which matches the most losses by the franchise in a season.
Donavan Solano and Rob Brantly continue to impress as they consistently produce at the plate for the Fish, both batting .300 and .297 respectively.
