Recap: Marlins @ LA Dodgers Game 3

5

Marlins snapped a 4 game losing streak as they avoided the sweep of the Dodgers by beating them 6-2.

The Marlins trailed early in the first when Adrian Gonzalez singled to left field and scored Nick Punto.

The Dodgers didn’t score again until the 7th when Andre Ethier singled to left scoring Matt Kemp. Shane Victorino would go 3 for 5, Adrian Gonzalez would go 2 for 4.

After trailing in the first the “manchild” known as Giancarlo Stanton would take a ball and drill it to dead center field for a home run: 437′.

In the 5th, Rob Brantly would hit his first MLB homerun to center field for 414′. Brian Petersen would be called safe at first on an error by short stop Hanley Ramirez that would score Greg Dobbs.

Then in the 9th, the Marlins would get back to back home runs from Jose Reyes and Carlos Lee. There must be a ton of women going crazy in LA because from what I am told Chicks Dig The long Ball. The Marling go YAAAHTZE 4 times and forcefully take game 3 from the Dodgers. The Dodgers and Marlins both record 11 hits but the Dodgers stranded 11 on base and went 1 for 9 with runners in scoring position.
Mark Buehrle gets the win as he improves to 12-11. While Aaron Harang lost the game dropping down to 9-8. Also, Steve Cishek gets the save.

GAME NOTES:

  • Marlins save a little dignity and avoid a series sweep AND get the win in LA.
  • Marlins snap a 4 game loosing streak.
  • Most home runs in a road trip 8.
  • Donovan Solano 10 game hitting streak continues.
