Recap: Marlins @ Braves Game 1
- Updated: September 26, 2012
Nathan Eovaldi had another quality as he tossed six innings and allowed only two runs on four hits. Also, he struck out eight batters and walked only two.
Donovan Solano had a magnificent ball game. He put his team on the board early as he belted his first career home run.
It doesn’t stop there, Solano launched his second homer of the night, which was two-run blast to center field and it gave the Marlins the three to two lead over the Braves.
Heath Bell, who started drama on the radio about Ozzie Guillen, pitched a 1-2-3 inning in the eighth.
Ozzie Guillen went with Mike Dunn to try to close out the game. Well, that was the baddest thing to do. First batter, Chipper Jones belted a double to center field. Then, Freddie Freeman blasted a clutch homer to center field and the Braves defeated the Marlins four to three and clinched to the postseason.
For Marlins, that’s the twenty-first blown save of the season. Only Milwaukee (27) and Colorado (24) have blown more save opportunities.
