Porter was possible replacement for Ozzie; How Ozzie will use Greenberg; Stanton shoots return Saturday
- Updated: September 27, 2012
Bo Porter, who’s currently the Washington Nationals’ third base coach, was officially announce as the new manager for the Houston Astros for next season.
Buster Onley of ESPN reports that the Miami Marlins talked extensively about Bo Porter as a possible replacement for Ozzie Guillen.
- How Ozzie Guillen will use Adam Greenberg
Today, the Miami Marlins agreed to sign Adam Greenberg to a one-day contract. Well, now this how Ozzie Guillen plans to use him on Tuesday:
Via Joe Frisaro’s blog: Asked how he planned on using Greenberg, Guillen said: “I don’t know yet. I might start him. Start him in left field, and lead off. If he hits a home run, he stays. If he’s out, he’s gone. I think that’s the easiest way.”
Most likely, Greenberg would get his at-bat in the bottom of the first inning, and then be replaced.
- Giancarlo Stanton isn’t ready to start on Friday, now shooting for Saturday
Giancarlo Stanton still has some sorness in his intercostal muscle. Ozzie Guillen doesn’t expect Stanton to back in the starting lineup any sooner than Saturday, reports Juan C. Rodriguez.
If this continues like this, I’d say he will end up being out for the rest of the season.
