Miami Marlins’ Pitchers and Catchers Have Reported
- Updated: February 22, 2012
Finally the moment that all marlins fans have been waiting for, a new season with a new name, new logo, new colors and the most important thing of all a new ballpark!
What a perfect day in Jupiter, Florida to start of the Marlins Spring Training. Today was the first pitchers and catcher report for the Miami Marlins. But remember some players reported almost two weeks early, among those early reports to camp were: Brett Hayes, Omar Infante, Mike Dunn, Steve Cishek, Alex Sanabia, Sean West, Josh Johnson, Elih Villanueva, Logan Morrison, Bryan Petersen and third baseman Matt Dominguez. Can I say they have Marlins World Series Feeling?
Today was a great day, Marlins 6-foot-7 ace Josh Johson pitched a bullpen session. Johnson was limited to just nine starts last season to shoulder issues, but he’s been throwing pain-free off a mound since mid-January. The biggest key for J.J is to stay healthy.

Also new marlins starting pitcher Carlos Zambrano pitched a bullpen session. The fish traded their first round pick, Chris Volstad and cash to the Cubs for RHP “Big Z ” Carlos Zambrano, the trade requires the Cubs to pay $15 million of the $18 million owed Zambrano in 2012.
Here’s what Zambrano had to say after his bullpen session
“I feel good now also, as before without having to put less stress on the arm”.
Playing in Venezuela did me good. That kept me in good condition, “
“The speed was dwindling a lot. This year I felt good in Venezuela, as in previous times”

Here’s what manager Ozzie Gullien has to say about Big Z:
“I think Carlos is going to pitch well for us, he feels good and looks good physically, he has lost considerable weight. He also looks strong”
