Miami Marlins @ LA Dodgers Game 1

The Miami Marlins travel to LA to face the Dodgers in what would be a homecoming in more than one way. The Marlins who had traded a under performing Hanley Remirez to the Dodgers and recieved Nathan Eovaldi in return.

Eovaldi would start on the mound for the Marlins and give up 6 runs on 7 hits over 3 innings in his 6th start for the Marlins. Eovaldi struggled to throw strikes down in the zone and when he left one up the Dodgers made him pay for it.

Both teams had struggled in their previous series, the Marlins lost the last 2 VS the Dbacks and the Dodgers got swept by the Giants pushing them 2 1/2 games back.

The Dodgers needed to get some help for Luis Cruz who had been carrying the team for the past 10 games while Andre Ethier and Matt Kemp were in their worst slump of the season. When you have 2 stars on your team slumping at the same time it makes it hard to win ball games but slumps are temporary and it was a matter of time before one of them snap out of it.

Today Andre Ethier had the all star caliber type of game we all know he is capable of. Ethier finished the night 4 for 4 scoring 3 times with 4 RBI’s, he was REDONKULOUS. In the 1st inning Matt Kemp started with a base hit followed by a Mark Ellis walk, Andre Ethier would walk into the batters box and when Eovaldi left a pitch waist high and Ethier  launched a 3 run bomb.

Hanley Ramirez would turn on a pitch in the 3rd and hit a Yahtzee ball himself making it a 6-3 ball game. The Miami Marlins would keep it close after a couple of hits and a score by Donovan Solano make it a 3-3 ball game. 2 homeruns from Juan Rivera in the 2nd and Hanley in the 3rd.The Marlins Giancarlo Stanton decided to hit a ball 430′ and just watched it leave.

The game still in reach the going into the 7th  but after Kemp’s single the Dodgres would open the game up in in the 7th when they get 2 more runs on a couple of errors. the errors end up costing the marlins the game. the starting pitcher for the Dodgers came from Chad Billingsley one of the Aces for the Dodgers would have to exit the game in the 4th when he hurt his arm throwing a pitch. Billingsley was one of the best they had this season so far.

The other big news for the Dodgers is the BLOCKBUSTER trade deal that would send James Loney to the Boston Red Sox in return for Adrian Gonzalez, Carl Crawford, and Josh Becket. The dodgers would also give up a few minor league players and pick up around $268 million dollars in contract money owed for on some of the trading players contract. for the deal to go through Carl Crawford and Josh Becket to waive some minor contract clause in their previous deals. the deal is expected to go through within the nex 12 hours. James Loney was in the line up for todays game but was pulled from the game before it started because of this possible deal.

Tomorrows order could feature 3 new men by the time: RHP Josh Johnson 7-10, 3.73 ERA  VS LHP Clayton Kershaw 11-7, 2.87 ERA.
