Marlins sign Jonathan Albaladejo, Amaury Rivas and Ed Lucas to minor league deals

The Miami Marlins have sign right hand pitchers Jonathan Albaladejo and Amaury Rivas and shortstop Ed Lucas to minor league contracts, reports Matt Eddy of Baseball America.

Albaladejo, 30, spent most of the 2012 season in Triple-A in the Dbacks’ organization. The right-hander posted a 3.65 ERA in 56.3 innings this year. Albaladejo is a mainly known for playing with the New York Yankees from 2008 to 2010.

Rivas, 26, was 5-8 with an ERA of 5.24 in 67 innings from the bullpen this past season in Triple-A for the Brewers organization. Rivera was moved to the bullpen after spending much of his career as a starter. He’s still looking make his major league debut after playing in the minors for eight years for Milwaukee.

Lucas, 30, hit a .262/.316/.408 batting line with 12 home runs and 52 RBI’s in 453 plate appearances in Triple-A with the Angels. Lucas has spent his entire career in the minors with the Royals, Braves and Angels. Like Rivas, Lucas is still trying to get his first taste of big leagues.
