Marlins sign Casey Kotchman to a minor league contract

The Miami Marlins have signed first baseman Casey Kotchman to a minor league contract with invitation to big league camp, reports Joe Capozzi of the Palm Beach Post. Kotchman is expected to be in Jupiter tomorrow.
Kotchman, who’ll soon turn 30, posted a .229/.280/.333 with 12 home runs and 55 RBI’s in 500 plate appearances last year for the Cleveland Indians. In nine years of major league experience, he owns a .262/.328/.388 line with the Angels, Braves, Rays, Red Sox, Mariners and Indians.
