1997 World Series Rematch
- Updated: May 18, 2012
Last night, the Marlins’ offense was really poor. The Fish didn’t score one run against Brandon Beachy, who got the complete game shutout.
Tonight is a different story. The Marlins will face the Cleveland Indians. These teams have played each other in the 1997 World Series, with the Fish as the winners.
First pitch is at 7:05 PM ET at Progressive Field. Carlos Zambrano (1-2) has pitched very well for the Marlins, but he keeps getting bad luck by not getting run support. He has only won 1 game in 7 games that he has started. He’ll will take the ball in this one for Miami.
Meanwhile, the Cleveland Indians will go with right- handed pitcher, Justin Masterson (1-3). His last start was a horrible one as he allowed six runs (four in the first inning) on seven hits in six innings against the Boston Red Sox.

The Marlins played the Cleveland Indians 10 years after 1997 World Series in 2007. In that series, the teams wore retro jerseys. The all-time record between these two is tied at 5.
Cleveland Indians are 129-136 all-time in interleague play. While Miami has a positive record when they play against the American League with 135 wins and 117 losses.
As usual the game will be televised on Fox Sports Florida and it can be heard on the radio at WAXY 790, WAQI 710.
